This little one decided to surprise us all and come a month early! His poor mom was not ready for what was about to happen… but you know what. Sometimes surprises are the best thing that happen to us! So glad he waited long enough for me to make the journey from sandy utah up to logan so I could grab a few photos. Mom wasn’t quite comfortable with pictures during the actual delivery, but you know what? The before and afters are just as beautiful and what we often want to remember the most anyway! It’s too easy to forget the detail when you’re focused on what you need to be doing. So let me do that part for you!

I’ve started a new venture with a local dental office that I love. These guys have been so good with my daughter who had severe anxieties with anything dental. Like severe. We’ve had to sedate her before just to get cavities filled, or basic x-rays done. So when I found Dr. Barney Olsen at Creekroad Ortho I was sold. He knew how to handle her. She’s now been through braces and back, and she does great. And he’s not just for those that struggle… because I now take all mine there and the entire staff is awesome. So aside from an unintended plug… what I meant to say was- I am working on updating their wall for the ortho patients! Old smiles to post braces smiles! It’s been fun, and here are two that went along that journey with them and now celebrated in my studio! Here’s to all those that have been through braces and lived to tell about it! (and no, this isn’t his that’s going on the wall.. I just couldn’t resist this very GQ pose of his!)

The world comes full circle when someone from your home back in Georgia, refers you to a brother who happens to be coming to Utah for their newborn photos. The stars aligned just right for this to work out, and I’m so glad they did. Look at this beautiful little one! He’s perfect you guys, congratulations! And a big welcome to a most little but adorable Gavin.

It almost breaks my heart when these babies on my milestone sessions hit 1 year old, because I get to see them less often! This little guy is 1 (but shhh… I’ll tell you a secret.. he has a sister on the way so I’ll still get to see plenty of these guys. yay!!). Happy birthday Enzo my man! See you again when you’re officially a big brother!

Sometimes, you have a boy, who grows up and decides he want’s to serve a church service mission for the next two years. So of course, you need to grab at least one quick family portrait before he’s off! We didn’t have much time, the light was going, it was cold, and there was no time for find a location. But you know what.. we still got exactly what we needed! I know I’m going against the norm here, but not all family pictures need to have a big to-do or styling. Sometimes the most important thing is just to document that moment in time. We’ll leave the big fan fare to another time!

Everyone needs a good head shot. Be it for social media profiles, business profiles or acting auditions! If I had the talent I’d pick the latter, but I don’t, so I’ll leave that up to these two here, and stick to taking the pictures! Make sure to look for Brinton coming up in the amazing The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe (I’ll give you a hint, he’s the lion!) at the Utah Children’s Theatre in downtown SLC. I’m hearing amazing things about this one! And don’t let the name fool you, this theatre isn’t just for kids!
